Een snufje georganiseerde chaos, twee eetlepels speelse nonchalance, een pond plezier, een scheutje van de meest prachtige herfsttinten en als kers op de taart enorm veel warmte en vooral heerlijk zachte stoffen!
A pinch of organized chaos, two cups of playful ‘Je ne sais quoi’, a pound of fun, a dash of the most beautiful fall colours and as cherry on top of the cake, a lot of warmth and the softest fabrics!
Ik blijf een beetje vasthouden aan het concept van de vorige collectie. “You will bless the ageless clothes in your collection. They are the backbone of any closet… things you can depend on when you need them” (Claire McCardell ). En vooral ook omdat het bij mijn concept hoort. Ik probeer je elke collectie weer te verrassen met nieuwe klassiekers, gecombineerd met een paar stukken die je al kent. Zoals ik dat vaker doe, gaan er nu ook weer een aantal stukken van de voorgaande collectie mee naar de nieuwe. Tijdloos is tijdloos, dus waarom dan niet langer dan een seizoen verkrijgbaar?
I hold on to the concept of my previous collection, “You will bless the ageless clothes in your collection. They are the backbone of any closet… things you can depend on when you need them.” – Claire McCardell. But mainly because this is what I believe in myself. Every time I launch a collection, I try to surprise you with some new ‘classics’ combined with some you already know. Just like I did before, I took some pieces from previous collection(s) with me and put them into the new one. Because timeless fashion is timeless, so why shouldn’t these piece be available for a longer period?
Wat is nu echt de inspiratie van deze collectie? Eigenlijk vooral de stoffen. Ik werd verliefd toen ik deze stoffen zag en echt verliefd toen ik ze voelde, want ooooh wat zijn ze heerlijk zacht!! Dan moet je nog kiezen, want alle rollen, in alle kleuren is dan toch een beetje ‘te’. Hoe doe je dat? Meestal heb ik al een duidelijk beeld, maar nu kwam dat pas toen ik naar een vloerkleed bij mijn opa keek. Toen dacht ik ‘dit kleurenpalet is eigenlijk echt heel mooi’. Dit kleed lag er al mijn hele leven, maar nu zag ik het pas!
What really inspired me this time? Mostly the fabrics. When I saw them, but especially when I felt them, I fell in love! Because they are sooooo soft!! Eventually I had to choose, because I can’t just order any role in any colour, that would be a little too much. So how did I make the decision? Most of the time I really have a clear view, or source of inspiration, this time it came to me after I already sketched some of my designs: I looked at the carpet on the floor at my grandpa’s. I thought to myself ‘’this colour palette is actually quite pretty”. You should know that this carpet lies there for as long as I live. So I took me a while to see the beauty of it.
Deze collectie is iets anders dan voorheen. Toen ik het er met een vriendin over had konden we geen woord vinden voor wat dit ‘anders’ dan zou moeten zijn. Ik denk dat ik dat maar aan jullie over laat!
This collection is a bit different than the ones before. When I discussed it with a friend, we just couldn’t find the right words to describe this ‘difference’… I think I’ll just leave that to you!
